Iai is an ancient martial art that focuses on iai, kenjutsu, and test cutting. The Osaka Sohonbu Dojo is our training ground, and we aim for true bushido that is not limited to kata. If you are interested in iai, kenjutsu, or shizan, please contact our office. You can also observe a practice session.
History
勇進舘について
勇進流刀技術は宗家・瀬戸天勇宏俊が創設し、
柳生新陰流を幹にした居合を中心とした
流派です。柳生但馬守宗矩大宗が出生した
江戸柳生新陰流は、時代の流れで本家は
武の道から遠のき、弟子筋が江戸柳生新陰
流を現在に伝えてきました。
勇進流一門は、古来からの居合・剣術・試斬
の伝統の灯が消えないように守り育て、後に
伝えております。
Yushin-ryu is a school founded by Soke Hirotoshi Setotenyu and centered on iai, a style of iai based on Yagyu Shinkage-ryu.The Edo Yagyu Shinkage Ryu was born to Yagyu Tajima Muneori Munenori Daisune, but as time went by, the head of the school drifted away from the path of the warrior, and his students have carried on the Edo Yagyu Shinkage Ryu to the present day.The Yushin-ryu family has preserved and nurtured the ancient traditions of iai, kenjutsu, and test cutting so that they will not be extinguished.

日本古来から脈々と続く日本の文化「日本刀」を理にかなった方法で使う刀技術を広め、真の礼節を学ぶ道場が勇進舘大阪総本部道場です。
日本刀の持つ「静」と居合の「動」を広く伝えたく、勇進流刀技術の名の語源となった「勇猛精進」の心で邁進すると同時に、各神社などでの奉納演武を通じて、居合道の普及にも努めております。
Yushinkan Osaka Sohonbu Dojo is a dojo to spread the art of using the Japanese sword, a culture that has been handed down from generation to generation since ancient times, in a reasonable way and to learn true civility. We want to spread the “stillness” of the Japanese sword and the “movement” of iaido, and we are striving to spread iaido through dedication demonstrations at shrines and other places.
